Sen. Uche Ekwunife has advised the Wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, to direct her explanations and justifications not to the public but to her husband, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo.
This was in response to an ongoing exchange sparked by Ekwunife’s earlier remarks concerning the hygiene of Gov. Soludo.
In a statement, Ekwunife dismissed Mrs. Soludo’s response as an unnecessary diversion.
“Without dwelling on trivial issues that are mere diversionary tactics from my initial friendly advice, it is important to evaluate Mrs. Soludo’s response.
“She tried to prove her chastity, fidelity and even her virginity. But let me be clear, she doesn’t owe me those explanations. She owes them to her husband,” she said.
Ekwunife accused the governor’s wife of dragging her into personal and family matters, including issues surrounding the paternity of her children.
“If my statement stirred something in her conscience, then she should settle that with her husband.
“If he demands a DNA test, she should boldly go ahead with it. But I am not the one she needs to convince,” Ekwunife stated.
In her remarks, Ekwunife appeared unfazed by Mrs. Soludo’s challenge, asserting that the governor’s wife should “live above suspicion,” referencing the often-cited phrase about Caesar’s wife.
“She should leave me out of her paternity crisis. Challenging me to a DNA test is absurd.

“She only has one person to prove her innocence to—Gov. Soludo,”she said.
Ekwunife reaffirmed her political mission: “Our resolve to save Anambra from misrule and embarrassment is total and our will remains undaunted”.
