Momentum is building for the 2025 edition of the Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU), scheduled to take place on July 31 in Lagos, as top players in the automotive sector have thrown their weight behind the event.
Leading the pack of supporters is the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), joined by key industry stakeholders such as Toyota Nigeria Limited, Carloha, Weststar Associates Limited, Lanre Shittu Motors (LSM), and Nord Automobiles, among others.
This year’s summit is being jointly organised by the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) in collaboration with the Nigeria Association of Automotive Manufacturers (NAMA) and the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers (AAAM).
Building on the success of its inaugural edition in 2024, the upcoming summit promises even greater engagement from stakeholders. According to NAJA, interest and participation have surged, indicating growing relevance and acceptance of the platform within the industry.
Themed “Nigeria First: Local Content as Catalyst for Automotive Economy,” the summit will focus on driving indigenous participation and accelerating the implementation of the Federal Government’s Auto Industry Development Plan.
In a statement, Mr. Mike Ochonma, Chairman of the NAISU Organising Committee, said:“Last year, NAJA launched NAISU as a platform for stakeholders to critically examine challenges and opportunities in the automotive sector. This year, with increased participation from critical government agencies such as NADDC, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the summit will take these conversations even further.”

NAJA Chairman, Mr. Theodore Opara, added that NAISU has quickly established itself as a key industry event.
“The strong interest received so far underscores its importance. This year, we aim to deepen discussions around local content and fast-track the long-anticipated Auto Industry Development Plan.”
The 2025 summit is expected to spark actionable conversations that could shape the future of Nigeria’s automotive landscape.
