The Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah as they begin this year’s Ramadan fast. He urged them to use the holy season as a time for deep reflection, spiritual growth, and prayers for peace, unity, and progress in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by his Special Assistant on Media, Lizzy Okoji, Prince Audu encouraged Muslims to strengthen their faith, deepen their relationship with God, and engage in acts of worship (ibadah).
He also called for compassion and generosity, especially towards the less privileged.
“As the holy month of Ramadan dawns upon us, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah and all Nigerians. This sacred time calls for reflection, spiritual renewal, and an opportunity to extend love and kindness to our fellow compatriots.
“Ramadan teaches us the values of charity, unity, and self-discipline. Let us seize this moment to reaffirm our commitment to uplifting those in need, fostering compassion, and strengthening bonds within our families and communities.”
The Minister emphasized that Ramadan is a time to renew faith in Almighty Allah, seek forgiveness, and increase prayers. He urged Muslims to remain steadfast in their spiritual devotion as they draw closer to God.
“In this holy season, let us pray for hope, peace, and progress for our beloved country, Nigeria. Let us also pray for our President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose unwavering commitment to national development continues to inspire us all. Notably, as we approach the fasting period, food prices have dropped across the country—a testament to ongoing economic efforts. May Almighty Allah grant our leaders wisdom and guidance.”

Prince Audu reiterated Islam’s core values of peace, understanding, and unity, calling on Nigerians to embrace these principles regardless of their religious beliefs.
“May this Ramadan be a period of renewal, forgiveness, and reflection for all. May we emerge from it with a stronger commitment to serving one another and our great nation.
“Ramadan Kareem! May Almighty Allah accept our fast as an act of ibadah.”
