The military operation on January 10, 2025, troops from Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, dismantled multiple terrorist hideouts in Fakai, Shinkafi Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
The coordinated offensive, which included ground forces and air support, targeted camps led by notorious terrorists Bello Turji and Mallam Ila.
The operation resulted in the neutralization of over 25 terrorists, with more than 18 others sustaining injuries. Additionally, seven kidnapped victims were successfully rescued after escaping amid the ensuing chaos.
This mission dealt a significant blow to the terrorist network operating in the region. Operation Fansan Yamma reiterated its commitment to eliminating all terrorist elements within its jurisdiction and restoring peace to affected communities.

Lt. Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma, highlighted the military’s ongoing efforts and issued a stern warning to terrorist leaders to surrender and renounce violence unconditionally.
The military’s proactive measures continue to inspire hope for the restoration of peace and normalcy in Zamfara State, a region that has long endured the scourge of terrorism.
