As the 8th National Convention All Progressives Congress (APC), draws near, Governors Agbu Kefas and Siminalayi Fubara have downplayed fears of internal crisis, expressing confidence that the exercise will be conducted without major disruptions.
Speaking on Thursday in Abuja at Government Lodge following a high-level meeting, the governors said while political contests often produce aggrieved aspirants, the party has taken proactive steps to manage possible fallout and maintain unity.
They noted that with over 8,453 delegates expected to participate, the convention represents a critical democratic process that requires careful coordination, adding that consultations among stakeholders have helped to minimise tensions.

“We are not expecting any problem, but we must always be prepared. These are standard procedures in elections of this nature. While nothing can be completely ruled out, the groundwork we have laid gives us confidence of a hitch-free convention,” one of the governors said.
The governors further stressed that the APC leadership remains committed to transparency and inclusiveness, describing the convention as pivotal to strengthening the party’s internal structure and positioning it for future political engagements.
