Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial district, unequivocally addressed the issue of his heritage by stating that his ancestors settled in Nasarawa state over two centuries ago.
Speaking at the Aliyu Bellos Charity Educational Foundation and Empowerment Programme in Support of Orphans, Less Privileged, and Internally Displaced Persons in 2024, held at the Taal Conference Hotel in Lafia, Senator Wadada emphasized that in Nigerian politics, the crucial factor is not one’s origin but rather the ability to deliver democratic benefits to the people.
Dismissing claims of being a foreigner in Nasarawa state despite a lifetime spent there, Senator Wadada emphasized the significance of actions over origins, highlighting his family’s longstanding ties to the region.
He urged parents to take responsibility for their children’s upbringing rather than relying on charitable foundations, emphasizing the importance of self-sufficiency and community support.
Expressing admiration for the Chairman of the ruling party in the state, Aliyu Bello, for his philanthropic endeavors, Senator Wadada underscored the essential role of education in empowering individuals and eradicating poverty.
He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for his swift and impactful governance, particularly in areas such as security, infrastructure, and education.
Encouraging Nigerian youth to seek peaceful resolutions to grievances, Senator Wadada made generous donations to support charitable initiatives, emphasizing the importance of unity and progress.
In a similar vein, Federal Commissioner Ahmed Aliyu Tijjani highlighted the government’s efforts to address hunger and poverty, calling for collective support towards national development.
Governor Abdullahi Sule, represented by Commissioner Abubakar Zanwa, lauded Aliyu Bello’s dedication to education and urged societal elites to invest in humanitarian causes for the greater good.
