The National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Daniel Okoh, says the 2025 Christmas celebrations were among the most peaceful Nigeria has witnessed in recent years, attributing the calm atmosphere to renewed security interventions by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Bishop Okoh spoke in Lagos on Friday during a courtesy visit by CAN leaders to President Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at their Ikoyi residence. Addressing journalists after the visit, he noted that the holidays were largely free of violent attacks on Christian worshippers, a development he described as “a remarkable departure from previous years.”
According to him, the visit provided an opportunity to appreciate the President and First Lady for their continued support to vulnerable citizens and their commitment to national stability and development.

The CAN President praised the government’s recent security strategies, saying they had strengthened public confidence and contributed significantly to safer celebrations across the country. He expressed hope that the administration would sustain the gains recorded, ensuring more secure festive seasons in the future.
Bishop Okoh reaffirmed CAN’s readiness to partner with the Federal Government in advancing peace, unity, and development nationwide, assuring that the association would continue to support efforts aimed at strengthening national security and social cohesion.
